T. cruzi transialidase (TcTS) and the T. carassii TS-like (TcaTS) were aligned together using clustalw. The portion of the alignment shown includes the mature catalytic domain only. Identity between residues is indicated with stars (*), conservative changes are indicated with double dots (:), less conservative changes are indicated with a single dot (.). Boxes highlight the residues involved in the catalytic centre of the sialidases of known crystal structure. I, II, and III are conserved aspartic boxes. NA is a signature motif of the neuramindase (NA) superfamily.
Results of BLASTX analysis against protein databases. We have divided matches in two categories:
All sequences have been subjected to similarity searches
against different databases, and to testcode evaluation of
their coding potential. A summary of the results for each
sequence is available.
